Project mk1 G60-New pics pg11
Pretty easy to do as half the loom you don't need
found a wicked guide which was so easy to follow.
and the big pile of left over wires
so after all the choping you are left with 5 wires that connects the whole engine loom to the mk1 loom.

I have decided to leave it out as it makes access to the engine so much easier.
so started off by cutting it out.
I decided to get stuck in as it was a nice day.
1st job front bumper and wings off
Then started to sand and grind back the remaining bits of the rain tray
will make a start on the other side today and then rip the loom out again and hide the wiring in the inner wing

However I feel I should point out something that you (and your insurers) need to be aware of.
The `rain tray` is not a rain tray. It is a raised (extended) part of the sealed bulkhead (note also the rubber on the top that seals against the bonnet) which is designed to act as 1) a fire wall between the engine bay and the car and 2) to stop fumes being drawn in via the heater etc.
As a minimum may I suggest you consider creating a metal plenum around the heater fan with a metal duct that connects to and draws air in from outside via one of the scuttle vents and seal off properly any other holes.
If you had a bad fire (in particular an electrical fire) while driving along the airflow/heater would fill your car with smoke very quickly.
Apart from that its a great build and we all learn from it
