Well our annual bash will soon be here! 8O  Looking at finalising a lot of stuff now, just thought I'd open up for any suggestions of anything people want to see here.

FYI, plans so far are certainly based around an 80's theme given our cars era. So far, ideas a foot;

1. 80's fancy dress/theme for the Saturday night disco/BBQ/bash
2. 80's theme for regional displays
3. BMX Challenge
4. 'Guest' club display (non-MK1)

All ideas welcome, will take a look when I'm back at the weekend

Games (teams, regions, etc) tug of war, coconut shy, raffle
Parade/mini cruise
Mk1 special display (Sportlines, Campaigns, GXs, S1 GTi, etc) that changes each year

fault diagnosis thing!! where u take ur car to a designated area and bert or some mechanic bloke or anyone with knowlegdge can help you out with your problem and mite even fix it!  

we need that hotdog vw bus from stanstead there definatly

i think the diagnostic thing is a good idea

get someone in to set up a go karting track ect ect  

ops: i could be in with a chance of wet t-shirt comp, been getting a bit lardy over winter.
 could have a parts throwing competition, for all those times something has sheered or things have gone tits up.

and an off road expieriance thingy

but we could have a mini tornament on the gokart for all those interested

just before crimbo me and a load off mate went and did a grand prix on a local track and the wife won!!!! i put it down to a wet track and most off us getting disqualified for bumping or spinning into barriers lol

FYI, trophy categories will be about the same as last year - given the wash out we still have all the trophies!! ops:

got a huge tent with 4 rooms if anyone needs somewhere to get some shuteye

Food stalls! lots of them please   I want burgers, hot tea and sticky buns

 


always liked the idea someone suggested of building up a "club car", made from spare parts people don't want

but who'd be up for working on a car at a show instead of relaxing and enjoying the stunning sight of many Mk1's  :dontknow:

phil, i half suggested this idea last year. the general consensus was that we we need a virtually finished car, with people just added various bits (e.g. a wind mirror or a stearing wheel)

then the car could be put up for sale and all momies to charity?

not sure if club funds allow for this though?  :dontknow:

I would suggest possibly a rat look… but don't agree with them so I wont  

think your right about it taking a nearly complete car for that to work, ah well, maybe I'll donate a few working spares (If I can find them) to the diagnostic's area

FYI Food stalls not possible, Gaydon take have teh franchise on the food so can't do much I'm afraid :cry:
