Anyway, we've seen a couple of posts like this in the past havn't we? It's a real shame when people don't get what they are expecting from the club but to the overwhelming majority the club and members are nothing but helpful and friendly.
Any time I've asked a question it's been answered by someone helpful in less than 30mins.
Flippin awesome club

and let me pack my dreams
Now where did I put those yesteryears
made up with broken seams
Where shall I sweep the pieces
my God they still look new

Rebuilding a car is a labour of love, even with full facilities, experiance and bags of time, it's still usually cheaper to buy a good example than to restore one. That said, restoring a car gives you a sense of satisfaction that you simply don't get buying a "Turn Key" Mk1.
To give up on a project and then blame the owners club, well, with that attitude I don't think you have the right mentality to take on such a project.
I can only hope that someone else has benefited from your car plus whatever spares you failed to fit.

what a chopper, if i didn't have this website i would probably have spent about ?300 more on service bills no joke!!Excellent!
Cheers guys/girls
as i wouldn't have bought all the twiddly bits to make it look better when i go to meets, I'm sure I would have been happy with the car as it was when i got it. Thanks to irresponsible members of this club i now see cars to compair mine with.
with this in mind I'm now thinking of leaving the club and pursuing several members through the courts for having cars that are better than mine and making me spend cash to improve my car, all this cash the missus knows nowt about  which if she did could cause a divorce as well.
So you lot with nice motors and you know who you are should be ashamed of yourselves call yourself a club just look what you have driven poor MK1john to do to his 1.3, swapping it for a G60 shame on you. :naughty:

If it wasn't for looking at the awesome cars on here I wouldn't spend 2 hours of my working day trawling though ebay and trying to justify buying a 20vt engine to sit in my mum's garage until a time that talent allows me to put it in!!
This site and all it's members have always been more than helpful and very fast to respond. The search facility is excellent IF you can be bothered to spend some time trawling it, there some people you just can't help :dontknow:

1. open to required chapter.
2. read all the way though.
3. flick till you find a picture that actually shows what your working on. (if your doing the carb look in the electrical section)
4. reread chapter again to see if it makes more sense
5. look at the car and try and figure out were the part actually is
6. post a question on here and slate the haynes for not being correct.
7. after doing the job re-read the chapter again to relise it is actually telling you what to do and finally understand what it wants you to do
