DIY wheeel restoration / reherb
Anyone know of a good method of restoring wheels yourself? I saw on that wheeler dealers program Ed China cleaned up some teardrops for an MR2 and they looking amazing. I'm pretty sure he used a grinder and some compound of some description.
I'm got some flakey, tired looking multispokes which the previous owner sprayed over with silver paint that I want to clean up. They don't have to be pristine, but just getting them to look respectable would be nice.
Is it worth me putting the effort in if they are starting to flake? Or are they too far gone?
I will post a pic in due course (car is at the garage getting MOT'd right now).
Anyway, has anyone got any pointers or step by step guide to tidying up wheels.
Cheers

800 grit wet and dry to remove the paint then 1200 to smooth. then paint. ed china used a mop and cutting compound which will cost you more than is worth spending for the tools.
