Urgent Help Please-Fuel Tank
Sorry to post this is in the wrong place but need a quick response if anyone can help?
Gaz is outside doing the new fuel tank & filler neck.
The new tank (from gsf) seems to be a bit different! It fits but there are two hoses from the car, one is some kind of overflow from the filler neck and this fits but the other one which connects onto the tank doesnt. The place where it goes onto is in a different place on the new tank and the hose doesnt reach. So do we need a new longer hose or is it not essential? ops:

Cabrios had different versions again (hence the different fuel filler pipes) although I think the laters ones used the same tank design for both carb and injection engines and the inj had a lift pump in the tank like the MK11 tintops???
Essentially as long as there is an in and an out it should be OK :dontknow:

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

She was lowered 40mm last week - she looked awful after the auto box came out - seriously high at the front! Its not low now, just looks about normal.
Then should be sprayed in the next few weeks and then Ill be putting some pics up of her all finished!

He's finished it now - just got to fill up. The filler neck had a massive hole in it and looked rusty and the tank has loads of old muck in it. The cap was covered in what looked like sand too. She is looking really shiny underneath with a new exhaust too!
The new (gsf) filler neck was either too short, or the black hose bit we got was so had to do a bit of an interesting mod there but apart from that its not gone too badly!
