Oil pressure alarm and light..
I know it is an electrical problem and wondered if any one else has had this problem and how they resolved it.
Thanks

I also have this problem (Mk1 1.8GTI cab), but it only lights up/buzzes when i hit a certain RPM! This happened after a steam clean and several mechanics have been unable to find the problem. Is there anything else worth trying here?Jay666 said
You coud try changing the oil pressure sensors. There are two of these, one on the side of the head (gearbox end) and one in the oil filter area. Well mine is in the oil cooler but i have a mk3 bottom end, so i'm not exactly where. One brown and one white (might be difficult to see these colours because of grime). Quick and easy to do, reasonably cheap too from GSF.

Have replaced the sensor but it now continually buzzes and annoys the hell out of me, used to be able to hit the dash to stop it but not anymore..
Garage said the only way is to disconnect all the dash and plug it back in occassionally to see fuel guage, surely there is an answer??
