Have had to change mine over to Manx registration which invovles a serious MOT type test.. passed first time :-) and i have just this week got its new number and logbook.
It drives like new now though and im so pleased with it… might have to take her for a blast over the mountain now.. its TT week here so there are 10miles+ of one way roads full of mad hairy arsed bikers. lol
Just taken this picture of mine for footman james agreed value insurance.. she could use a clean really.

Even at mates-rates, you add up how much for sourcing good 2nd hand doors, hatch, welding new sills+arches and a professional (not rattle cans in a lock-up) respray. Then all the bits that you just have to replace when rebuilding; gearbox seals, brakes, clutch, fuel pump, radiator, fuel lines, refurb wheels, brake lines, window seals, exhaust, heat shield etc.
Then stuff like new tyres, service items, a decent radio and immoboliser to finish it off
Plus the original cost of the car and its soon adds up

someone said they spent 25k rebuilding there campaign. why? you can buy mint originals for under 10k.
i understand modding is expensive, but some people seem top be spending loads on restoring cars, i paid 2400 for my mk1, its in nice condition and i use it as my daily. ive had it about 3 or 4 months now and ive not spent a penny. i'l be servicing it pretty soon, butthats only 50 or 60 quid.
