Timing Issues
But (theres always a but ) 3 nights ago, the car started running really bad, after noticing the ruber flange holding the carb on was split. I replaced this part and cleaned all the carb out with an air line and carb cleaner.
So last night i put the carb back on and put everything together again. Then when i went to start it, it wouldn't run!
The car just bogs on throttle, and throughtout the rev range it splutter. It also wont start, it is popping and banging out the exhaust and the carb. So first thoughts was the car was running rich, and it was overfueling. Basically because the carb was all I had touched. After adjust the mixture back to base setting.
No different. So the next thing, was the timing. The symtoms are of the timing being out, but i almost over-ruled this, because i never touched the dizzy.
So heres the question, why,or what is causeing my timing to need adjusted all the time? I dont understand how it can be out, when all i done was replaced a carb part?! Is there something else causing this problem?
Help would be grateful, as this is my everyday runner, and at the moment im car less!
Thanks
