It was a lad of ed 38 breaking a corrado g60, and wanted 60 quid for the head, and as mine is screwd/v.noisey, just wanted to know if it would fit, as i thought 60 quid was a fair price??
i think a full g60 lump would suit my cabby too lol
This time next year rodders

Couple of things to say really. the injection holes have to be sealed. 1 Penny coins do the trick and some liquid metal. Also the inlet manifold will have no water heating, as with the old head. But i have re-routed the water pipes. The weber has a manual choke and warm air feed so hopefully in the winter it should`nt be a problem.
Somthing i could of done, Changed the exhaust manifold for a MK1 GTI version with downpipe. A MK2 wont fit. been there tried that. The carbed version has a round knuckle type with C clips. A right pain in the A**.
Things to buy is a head gasket set. 1.8.carb version will be fine. Set of head bolts.

I think the RS2000 cosie engines also use them.
The pump funny enough, i was told to change it..but i wasnt convinced. they are all the same. but i did change it ,from a gti engine just incase. When i took it off, it looked identical to the one i was putting back on.
The reason i changed the head was for two reasons. The tappets were tapping quite loud. looked at getting them reshimmed, and no one around here wanted to do it. and as for finding the shims and price. it was`nt worth it. Second is the power increase. With a 1.8 carbed version gettin 100BHP with a GTI head n cam is`nt a problem. My 1.6 is 75HP standard. and on the rolling road got 96HP. Mind u i have had it ported.
Your 1.8 block will rocket with a GTI head on it, just as good as a injection version. If you have a weber then all is really well. Like i said in the previous post, is that i wished that i put on a GTI manifold n down pipe. The Carb versions are a little restictive.
Its well worth the mod and its pretty cheap to do too. just need the time and tools..
if ya get stuck, just ask.
