another new clipper owner - Must be the weather!!!
I have a few questions that I wondered if anyone knows the answers to?
Where can I find a repair manual - Haynes dont appear to cover it?
I am suffering from a very squeaky dashboard - any easy solutions?
The only ugly bit of my new version is the rusty steel wheels - Trying to establish what the originals might be?
And finally the last 20 years have also bought 2 little children and only have lap belts in the back- Has anyone any ideas how to improve the safety without damaging the car?
Looking forward to many happy years of motoring!!!!

Regards the wheels, it depends on what model of cab yours is… Clipper or GTI? The squeeky dashboard could well be the various mounting screws coming loose over the years, the Haynes manual should show your the locations of these. Afraid I'm not up on kids so can't help on the seating issue :dontknow:

Where abouts in the country are you?
The Haynes manual covers quite a lot of the necessary repairs.
Wheels are easily refurbished at various outlets.

I lusted after one at the time (remember Joanna Lumley whizzing round in one on a telly programme?) but with 2 small kids couldn't afford one
Making up for it for the last 8 years tho!!

Re the Haynes Manual, my hubby does all the work on mine and my stepdaughters, plus the one we're restoring and he hasn't found anything not covered in a Haynes yet.
Good luck, and enjoy 8)

It's not easy to replace the lap belts with the normal three point harness, but not impossible.

I currently have 14inch steel wheels on her at the mo - would like to put Le Castellet alloys on - should I look for 14inch or 15 inch?

We had one where the original lap belt secured both the seat and a sort of lap protector, where if the car had an accident the child would hit a soft cushion rather than suffer whiplash. It also preventing them falling out.
The image above is not the one we used, but the bobsy seat range goes all the way from babies to 11 year olds with fittings for modern (isofix) and older normal seat belt cars. Our 2 year old was very snug in the cabriolet.
As for wheels, 14" or 15" will fit fine. The consensus is that the ride is a bit smoother on 14"s but the car looks a bit nicer on 15"s. We don't recommend going any bigger than this though. I'm sure Walt will be along shortly with a picture of his cabriolet on 15" Castelletes!
Cheers,
Drew.
