I found this on the internet, but I don't know if a Triumph TR6 has metric (M10) or imperial fittings!

You will find worse rot when you take off all that trim especially under the stuck black trim by the back seat . Remember to remove the petrol pipes and breather behind the panel befroe you start ! Crazyquiff might have a better panel from a scrapper ? Worth a PM ?
Good luck with it Paul……..

Rust looks exactly like mine did before I started cutting out. I'm sure you know already, but as chudd says get all that trim off you're bound to find the rot goes a bit further - I did.
I'm making my own plate up as we spek. I have welded two plates (80mmx80mm) of metal together which I will then drill a hole through to allow the seatbelt mount bolt through and into the nut I will weld onto the plate.
Chudd- did you take any pics of your one? How did you attach it. I intend to drill some holes round the edges of the plate and spot weld it into place.
Cheers

Exactly what i did , take measurements chop out old metal , weld nut on to 4mm plate to fit behind new repair . Repair old rust bit then drill 6 large holes in it and mount the 4mm repair behind and button weld it to your new panel . You now have a new seat belt mounting plate behind the newly repaired old one , hope that makes sence ? Remember to drill a hole for the top of the seat belt reel locating pin ! Harder to explain than actually do . Worst bit i found was the rust in that round bit located under the rear seat trim , but it all looks good now its primed sealed and painted
