Check your heat shields still intact!
LOL, maybe you need to do a spacewalk and check the foam tiles.

I'm pretty positive I don't have one. Would a "driver" have had one fitted as standard or was it just the Gti's?

there's a heat shield by the fuel tank, rubber gear linkage boot, gear linkage support bracket/mount thingy and the obvious at the front.. just seems the rest of the area is a bit exposed :dontknow:

think the exhaust mounts are knackered as it's sitting a little to one side

No worries!
if the exhaust is rattling against the heatshield I suspect it's not in the right position (exhaust and/or heatshield).. have you tried bending the shield away?

yep exhaust it tight as, doesnt move about alot and is std(i think) where it meats the heat sheild.
Can i just rip it off and cover the rubber with some sort of heatcover thingamajig
