help.... emergency!
emergency!!!
i have just had the second fuel leak this month from my aged pipes on my 1.8 mk1 campaign on way to work this morning! it was a bit like driving a molatov cocktail through a very busy rush hour!
does anyone have the specifications- measurements and fittings for the pipes you can have made or a contact person or job number for the pirtek?/dunloflex? companies people have used for replacement flexy lines so i can get some identical lines made.
i need to have it done asap without having to take the car to bits to do it! i wouldn't know where to start and it's our only car and need it back on the road b4 my girlfriend torches it!
i need both supply and return- start to finish!
if anyone could help i'd be eternally grateful, thanks in advance to the people i have already pm'd.
cheers

Basically using a pipe cutter, fairly cheap and straightforward, cut the pipe completely at the leak.
Then, use a couple of inches of proper rubber fuel pipe, which you can get from halfords, push it onto the metal pipes and push the pipes back together. Oh yeah you should have slipped a couple of jubilee clips on first to hold it nice and tight at each end, don't fasten too tight and crunch the tube.
If you do it properly theres no reason why it shouldn't last years.
And Crazyquiffs aint years away wherever you live.

i have ordered:
A fuel pump to accumulator flexi (from crazyquiff) top dude!
B accumulator to supply pipe flexi hose (from crazyquiff) ditto!
he is also sending me a connector from scrap for the supply pipe. so i can send it to bsr-aerotek (braided steel racing products-where g60eorge had his pipes made) so they can make me the main supply and return pipes. appaently the connector is the same at both ends of the main supply pipe and the front end of the return with a jubillee clip to attach to rubber pipe into fuel tank, so is the same for all three.
i will therefore be ordering from them:
C 5/16ths 250psi stainless braided line (?10.99per metre) supply with same conector at each end measured to fit
D 5/16ths 250psi stainless braided return with same connector at front end only measured to fit
terry at bsr-aerotec 01386449060 was particularly helpful and said he could turn it round in a day and send by return post!
now then can anyone think of owt else, find fault with this solution or give any further advice including pitfalls and problems i may encounter?
i love this site, this morning i was close to tears and now despite being quite a few quid lighter i am nearly happy again!
thank you all! including everyone who replied and p-emmed me
