…. and my wife wonders why I insist on parking on the far side of the Sainsburys car park if we take the Golf

I think if someone was that rude too me I would have got out and jumped on their roof! Maybe a bit harsh……………..
Why do people key cars as well? I mean you just don't mess with someone?s motor.
I used to own a mk1 - well I've had 2 actually - YDU 720X & SMU 420Y. Currently I drive an 98 Scotia White Mitsubishi Evolution V RS…. fancy getting another mk1 someday

Watch where you park around uni then. My golf was broken into even though I had a steering lock, alarm immobiliser, no radio, nothing on view and an open and empty glovebox. Smashed the window but clumsy dickhead dented the door frame and the handle and lock have never been the same since.Awww man I would be fuming if I caught anyone dooring me!
Now I have taken off the parcel shelf to show there is nothing in the boot to nick as well.

Sorry to hear about your break in. B******'s!
I've got a disklock, don?t have a radio and half my interior is missing (only got front seats) so no worries there! There are camera's were I park my car as well.
Security on Mk 1's are nearly as bad as old Lanrovers and that's bad!
I've sourced interior now so I'll be fitting that shortly.
As I do up my daily driver I'm going to have to invest in some security.
Do you go to show's Tom if so where?

I haven't done the show thing, I'm trying to keep a cap on my obsession a little bit and not let it take over.
I've got a black '79 gti which I'm using at the mo because my '82 gti is still knackered.
You seen the big ad for the new gti on Hyde Park Corner? I always smile when I trundle past it.

Heres a funny one - me and the bro had an old seat ibiza for raking around an old yard in and we did daft stuff like try to wreck it! it was fun.. but anyway we did simple tests like parking next to a big bit of steel and opening the door into it - you know somthing you'd try very hard not to do in your good car - we got out and looked at the door … not a mark! do it yours and there'd be a big ding!
