HI all i'm james ,posting under mk1-16v in cgti forum and now here
 i've got a 83 mk1 gti (A 468 FFU) dw chassis code,its got a kr 16v nestling under the bonnet ,and will have scirroco inlet manifold on it very soon, the body has been totally stripped and rebuilt (new wings ,inner/outer sills ,inner/outer wheel arches, drivers side rear chassis leg and inner arch where the fuel breather sits plus other small holes, could have done with a rear pannel but another mk1 donated none rottern boot slam pannel and new lower rear vallence was stiched in,its also got most of the vitle pipe work and running gear replaced)
 it has been modified but not so it loses the charicter of the car (the exhaust now exits through the rear vallance the sill trims been deleted ,scirrocco tilt & slide roof ,BBS RM's ,and other little bits but you'd really have to look for them)
 it's not road legal yet  8O
 but should be soon(i've been promising that for the past year :mrgreen: )
 
 if you look at jacks post mines the pearl cherry black one

It also has an effing great dent in the o/s front wing. ops:  :roll:  :wink:

To those who dont know myself and james bought and started our golf's at the same time and even shared a lock-up (albeit a leaking one nearly falling over - another story) so its been a bit of a race to see who'll finish first, but neither of us has done it in lighting pace thanks to a lot of hidden problems…………. :evil:

So how long has it been?  Who's in front?  Who's going to win?

i bought mine in sept '02……….so should have really been done by now ops:

i think james is in front (just) i am going to have to get my doors re-painted as they look a different colour in the light. and still have to sort the suspension as well as other little bits

Should have this weekend to myself rather than crawling round under a beetle/mk1 cab/mk2 16v so HOPEfully ( ) should get most of the small jobs done ,then just gotta put the mettering head back where it should be 8O , oh p.s the



   effing great dent in the o/s front wing.   
 
 
is acctually jacks ass print ,cos the things too low to get a trolly jack under it and you have lift it on the arch to get under it ops:

And a Front panel, wings, sills, rear arches, paint, headlining, N/S door glass(D'oh! :roll: ),The dash refitting and the Spot lights wiring up. 8O
