I have already been through 4 fuel pump relays I'm past 2 years….at the end I decided to replace my fuel pump as it was noisy and probably causing load on relay.
Best to test the fuel pump relay for function. Also check fuse.
Only last resort with caution and at your own risk:
You can also use a jumper to bypass relay only to carry out a test or use No 13 relay, turn upside down and connect……again only for a quick test. Not recommended for long term use as the fuel pump will work continuously and you can cause damage.
Good luck

The problem is situated in the
carburettor….. i tested the carburettor with an manual injection ( with the air filter disassembled and a syringe ) of fuel, and
he immediately started for a moment in a high rpm….
The inlet conduit gives fuel…..( tested in a start)
It is a Pierburg carburettor 1B3
The problem is…..

Test this solenoid. When you apply voltage, the plunger should pull backwards……this works as a safety cut off of fuel to carb.
If it doesn't work when applying voltage, then this could be the issue as it's restricting the fuel……it's fairly common problem and not expensive to replace.
If it works by applying voltage, then test the live wire which feeds into it….when you turn ignition it should supply a positive live.
Let us know how it goes.
Cheers

After a lot of trial & error I found it was the fuel vapor separator which was clogged.
Most probably due to the ethanol in the petrol and some standing still.
I replaced this by a MkII part.
Succes.

Today, i tested the solenoid….(
disassembled)
The solenoid works perfect……
But, i tested the connector to the solenoid ( just the contact on with the starting key in the car)
and sometimes i have the 12V and sometimes not !!!!! very strange
If i have the 12V on the solenoid opens, the engine starts en works perfect…
Without 12 V on the solenoid the engine doesn't start…..
Like you can see on the photo's, there is wiring from and to the solenoid…………
Who blokked the tension to the solenoid ??????
Thanks for the help
Best regards
Ivan

N3 is the solenoid which is earthed to the carburettor and the positive goes through 3 single connectors (Txxxx) and to Fuse S9.
So when the ignition switch is turned on the positive is fed through the fuse, then wire going through a series of connectors to the solenoid…..another thing to check is weather you have earth wire from your engine block to the carburettor screw? The carburettor sits on rubber gasket so having a good earth is very important…..if there is earth wire check the condition of the wire and continuity so with heat damage it can break from the inside which can effect the solenoid operation.

Brinz, first of al,l thanks for the manual.....
I found also a map of the fusee box on the internet.....
This afternoon, i tested(with a ohm meter ) the connection between the conduction solenoid and the connection A15 in the connector
on the fusee box.....this was perfect
also massa connection - battery en cabburator is oke...
There was also no
corrosion between the contacts in the fusee box….
thereafter, i tested the solenoid seperate, and he works……
Conclusion: i'm going to test hem about every two hours, a few days long….
because its mayby the solenoid who plays with my feet…..

Here Ivan again…………..
I bought a new solenoid in Germany and placed them in the cabburator….
3 times start ok… the fourth time not ……………….
Contact between A15 en solenoid ok……
But in the fuse box, there is also a contact who goes to the the startcontact key….
This contactpoint is the E2, but these contact is not described in your map ( in my opinion)
Now i have a map from a old dutch manual , and there, you can see E2 goes to the startcontact key…
And yes, a was a bad contact in the connector E ( contact E2)..(.i replaced the contact)
Engine starts again..!!!!
And when you put the contactkey once on, you can here the click of the solenoid….
If you want also the map of the old manual, i can sent you this by post…..
Best regards
