Dx gti 1.8
I have good fuel pressure, Got sparks, compression test ok. I can even here the injectors ringing.
Any ideas.

Is the battery properly charged and spinning the engine fast enough, try giving it a boost with some jumper cables if everything else is good.
“Sniff” is really the last resort and not particularly good for your engine

Maybe Worth checking/swapping out the coil.? I had a similar issue when it was cold/damp and it solved it instantly.
Have also had the belt jump so worth checking timing.

I lined up Tdc from mark on timing wheel to head at rocker cover. Then set dizzy rotor to mark on edge. Checked firing order all good. Not sure how to check timing. I removed plug one and put in scew driver and Tdc mark is accurate. What else can I do to check or set timing.

Has the non starting occured since you made the adjustments?

it will start on the 5th injector you say you
have a good spark if you have fuel even if
the timing was 180 out it would backfire
fancy no fuel myself
Do not know a lot but willing to help if possible
