I see your point about having one switch per seat. Do i need the proper expensive ones from Heritage?
And secondly where to place them. With my single switch idea i was going to use the one blank switch on the dash below the hazard light switch etc. Where to mount the two seat switches…? (I have an ‘80 tintop gti btw)

Think i could maybe mount both switches inside the ashtray - seen it done for other control systems such as air suspension.
Wondering if the best bet is to buy two Audi TT heated seat switches (the round ones) and then send power to them.
Thoughts?

Bit more on this one. So ive found out from the TT forum that the seat control switch has the relay (solid state) as part of it (see diagram). So I have the seats and can get the control switches, and from my basic understaning of wiring diagrams , i think that should work. What do you think Briano1234 ?
How did you get on with the install and wiring of the seats. Considering doing this on my tin top

Got two swtiches from a scrap TT as these contain the relay AFAIK. Ran a decent wire from the battery and was going to add a chunky inline fuse (20amp?), then create a simple harness to the two seats. The main thing i was mulling over was where to mount the two TT switches as i want them out of sight as they dont match the interior. Was thinking of tucking them under the recess beneath the ashtray holder and above the central console.
(What i was going to do first before all that was just run a wire direct from an old car battery in the garage to check the seats actually heat up first!)
So in theory, i have the kit, have a plan and just need to do it!
