Heat Shield - repair or replace?

The fuel tank heat shield on my new purchase has a bad case of rot on all the clips to the point where they are non-existant leading to a unbelievably irritating rattling where it was knocking on the exhaust - the rest of it is in very good condition, its just the clips that have vanished.
I have temporarily resolved this with a visit to "Bodge it and scarper" mechanics - AKA me on my driveway by clipping it back up with some bulldog clips with silicone.
with everyone's collective experience - should i take it off and weld some clips back on, or replace the entire thing - and if i am replacing the entire thing can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance!

The clips aren't usually welded on, they clip one to the other as a Fastener, and I have on occasion removed them (usually by accidently springing them off) while working on other things, then relocated them….So your "bodge in and scarper fix" will usually be ok….
Cool, okay - do you have any photos of what they should look like? - here are some shots of the before and after temporary bodge.
i had presumed there was a lip on the end that went up and over and hooked to hold it on - didn't think of a fastener.
any photo's of what it should look like would be appreciated if anyone has some as like i say i want to ideally keep it "Standard" and cut out / replace any rusted areas.
