Oil problem

Golf mk1cab 2h engine rattle noise
I had problem on my cab for 2 weeks ago, ratlle noise from engine, idle and about 2000 rpm.
Had a oil pan dawn and a rod bearing nr1 dead. Nr2 not as bad as nr1.
A put the new ones and pat the pan back, a drive it in 2 weeks now, and it leaking from oilpan seeling, i tok it off, and i removed bearing nr1. I can see a scrathes again. It has a problem again. A removed a oilpump and there is a scrathes there to.

Over here on this side of the pond the 2.0 pumps are actually cheaper than the 30-32mm 1.8 ones.

Some bearing sets have bearings with built in Thrust washers.
The last set I bought had the bearings with the inbuilt thrust washers.
They prevent in and out movement of the Crank, and are usually on the 3rd con rod.
vwheritage on the Cabriolet engine, shows a picture of the crank bearings with the thrust washers
