I've not done this before and sorry if I sound a bit thick but comparing the two parts I can see a big difference in length which I was expecting but not by that amount.
Am I OK to go ahead and fit this and any tips would be great. Have read a few reviews on these and a lot of people are saying that they are really hard and not much cop.
Any advice appreciated.

I would agree with abfmk1 and assume the reason for the difference in length would be that, even at it's highest setting, JOM's are a 1" drop from stock height (according to Black Forest Industries site).

I had some short body coilovers on my old mk2…. The length difference between them and the standard suspension was hilarious!

Also fitting the new ones were a lot easier being shorter and slotted into the subframe mount without too much hassle.
Let's see how we go with the fronts…
