How the hell does one take this off!

Can not work out how to take this trim off as its rattling away and seems its not fixed properly. May need a new one .

If I remember correctly, they have fittings like the front grill, need to push the little peg in to release it.

Ah ok. That explains why there is one hole where the dowel should be. Can the dowels be bought?
