MK1 Caddy Re-Build

Post

Here's my MK1 Caddy. She's had a lot of love from myself and previous owners, but daily use has taken it's toll on her. The time has come for a full re-build…

Standard 1.6D Engine Out

MK2 GTD Engine Out of Donor Car, Engine Mounts Corrected

Almost Empty Engine Bay

Began Stripping for Bodywork

Next Stage is to Re-build GTD Engine, and prepare Caddy for Paint…

Looks like a tidy motor - good luck with the build!

I think most members on here would have said it looks finished compared to theirs….mine included.

Nice mate, that's a great engine to put in.

Agree with Matt, why's it need paint? You changing the colour or keeping the same?

Good looking Caddy, are you keeping it the same colour?

Putting in a MK2 Golf 1.6 Diesel Turbo (GTD) with a 5 Speed Box. Not the fastest Engine, but I had one spare, and it's used daily for work.

There's a few nasty dents in the Body, along with Bubbling Rust, so it's being Stripped Back, Repaired and Sprayed a different colour. Looks better in Photos than in person!
