it cant be adjusted manually, the ecu does the fueling and the spark unlike kjet 16v's, its got to be down th the map/chip on it thats fueling wrong
Thanks for that. Is it best to take it to a dyno specialist?

A common problem on our fuel injected Citi Golfs is a faulty water temp sensor fooling the ECU into thinking that the engine is cold thus increasing the fuelling to compensate. In 90% of cases where the guys complain about sudden poor consumption replacing the sensor will bring it back to normal.
Will give it a try first, thanks

I've seen the wires to the throttle body kinda in a bad shape cause over fueling.
Will check that out too thanks

Am I correct in thinking it's the blue one?
That looks like an oil pressure sender, unfortunately my ABF engines doesn't have the stock sensor layout anymore so I found the following on the Web, hope it helps…

if its running the full abf management there should be a diagnostics wire from the ecu to behind the fusebox, if you're lucky the port will also be wired in but if not its only 3 wires to add it yourself provided the wire is there. its grey/white on vw lumps, and on seat its green for whatever reason. it runs from ecu pin 43 anyway.
get this going then you can scan for fault codes, and even read all the sensor inputs in real time so this will really help in your fault diagnosis

if it has the lambda probe fitted (it should!!) you can test if its bad by unplugging it. if car is much better then chances are you need a new one.
