Very nice example though.
I had one of those blue tinted screens on my Driver when I got it, right up until:
I managed to score the last genuine clear windscreen imported into Britain though 8)
Anyway, less about me - keep us posted, looks like a minter you've got there!

I'm not doing anything major in regards to a project however through the winter id like to bring the engine up to show standard. I'm not personally keen on the wheels, I'm open to suggestions??
Have you got a pic of your car?

Hi nice looking car you got, I was trying to view this when it was for sale, but was too late.
As for the wheels i quite like the D90s, but they do look a bit big on mk1s. did you get the p/slots with it.
Either way nice looking car.

I had emailed the seller on eBay wanting to know what size/offsets these wheels were but he didn't know & had sold the car. If you want to sell them then I would be willing to have them off you as long as the price was reasonable. Is the car as tidy as it looked/came across in the advert?
Hi,
Car body work and interior is pretty mint, quick inspection under the car and all looks good but yet to get it on ramps. For the money I'm really happy, however electrics are a mess!
Will keep you posted on the wheels mate, not quite at the point of selling yet. Need to get electrics done first etc. will pm you first tho

Looks like there might be a bit of a project after all…

Replaced fuel pump bracket as hanging off, stripped rust and painted.
Stripped out interoir to find leaks… Good old Sikaflex
Next was to respray the GTI trim and to seal leaking head light. Also had a tidy up of some electrics but bit more to do yet!
Here's the resprayed trim and the last pic with the D90s!
Running the p-slots at the moment, love the classic look. Will eventually get centre caps and a refurb
Here's the new wheels, next is the suspension. I'm thinking I may go with the Bilstein B12 kit, any advice would be great?? Once that's fitted new wheels will go on.

Ordered coilovers in the end as wanted the adjustment on the car. Went for Spax RSX, also ordered new rubbers and top mounts.
Couldn't resist trying the wheels on
Will do a brief write up on the coilovers when fitted, hopefully will arrive tomorrow so I can fit friday…. My time off work is running out!
