Master cylinder fitted and wow…it can actually stop now
Went to paint the drums, O/S drum off and one of the liners fell off
Nowhere around that sells mk4 pads let alone RST ones so had no choice but for my old man to rivet the old one back on. no worries as the wheel cylinder was seized too!
Dad took it out to famagusta, got a speeding ticket by a cop who had the only other RS Turbo on the road in North Cyprus
Took some pics with my mates 20vt mk1, absolutely spotless!

Brings back memories, happy days. Top job but please don't go too 'Chav' on it, she's an old gal that needs respect ;-)

Exterior is staying completely standard except for the wheels and slightly enlarging the lower front bumper opening for the intercooler. I won't be going chav with this one!

Picked up an Airtec rad as the turbo had been hitting the old one and it wasn't really in the best of shape.
That inlet manifold in the background above is also for this, just began gathering parts for the EFi conversion, all that's left is the megasquirt ECU, modified the head with injector cutouts as the adaptor plates would foul the strut brace. Manifold itself has had all the casting seams ground and it's all been port matched. throttle body smoothed out and the butterfly plate knife edged to minimise turbulence.
I've also picked up one of these sandwich plate adaptors to replace the standard water heater, got my oil temp and pressure sensors for my prosport gauges in it.
Did some minor soldering work to the ECU as my Bayjoo one had developed a fault with one of the chips so swapped the chip over to a known working standard ecu.
Also got a bunch of other assorted tat to fit next week as i'm going Cyprus on Thursday, aerocatches, rear brake kit, braided lines and so on. Oh and I bought a H reg RS turbo to restore but that's another matter entirely!
Update hopefully next week with shiny bits being fitted on to actually make the bloody thing go and stop like it's supposed to!

Went to Cyprus, dug the Escort out of storage, fitted my new smoked rear lights and went for a drive, even with 6 months of dust on her she still looked good parked up
After a quick clean, still need to find someone with a buffer to get the paintwork done, but not too bad for painting in a shed.
Fitted new indicators and removed the spotlights.
Also gave her a service and a group a coil, and fitted my prosport oil temp, pressure and boost gauges. Peak recall and warning is a handy touch.
Offered my calipers and discs up to the wheel, 2mm of clearance, glad I don't have standard wheels now! Couldn't fit them as it was getting towards the end of the holiday and more pressing issues came to hand, like fixing the bodged fuel pump relay wiring and rewiring the central locking and electric windows wiring which was attacked by a mouse.
Also fitted my airtec alloy rad, after which temps never went near 1/2 even in 40 degree heat. Then I just enjoyed her for the last few days, took it around both coasts and to Kantara castle before parking her up and leaving her for next year.

Cheers lads! Yeah it was fun, I had a bit of a prang in it when my exhaust clamp got caught on the side of the road and the car flew backwards but nothing too major!
Just been saving up for the megasquirt, Should also be in charge of designing and fabricating the loom for this years Formula student car, the uni has the Deutsch connector gun so if I get the chance I may be able to fabricate an F1 spec engine harness which would be nice!
