Also might be worth putting the old module back on the car as at least it would start with that one and go from there before throwing any more money at the car.
Word of warning, only run the fuel pumps without the engine running for a few seconds or you'll burn them out.
if fuel side ok then when was the car serviced or HT leads, dissy cap, rotor arm and spark plugs last changed. Fuel filter in the engine bay should really be replaced every 20,000 miles.

I know alot of newly trained mechanics can't do much unless they have a laptop pluged in and then just throw new bits at the car untill the problem goes away.
There must be a decent garage near you which know something about these cars, have a look in the yellow pages etc and see if one is in the "good garage scheme".
Or get a haynes manual and have a go yourself, everything in my last post is possible to do with little tool and experiance……

To cover the body work, trim, light fittings etc you need this (does cover some of the injection system)

Perhaps someone living closer to you could lend a hand or show you what to do as I'm sure once you have watched someone else doing the work you will pick it up no problems and be servicing your car… Always a learning curve with old cars :-)
There is a how to guide on this site the last post is about changing the filler neck it gives you pictures on what you're looking for and where the opening to the top of the fuel tank is under the rear seats. There is also lots of help with the basic things like changing the air filter. A Haynes manual is a great tool to have at home as lots of info in there on all this.

the 91 is same as the 85 really, only thing it may not cover specifically is the clipper body kit but thats not really any different to normal bumpers just has extra trims clipped on the side.
edit: oh and if you have a very late one with the digifant fuel injection system then you'll need a mk2 haynes if you really want the info on that, but you dont really need to worry as its well covered on the forums plus theres my digifant faq

I belive the fuel pump relay has the rev limiter built into it so maybe try another relay as it might not be resetting after the limiter has come on.
Do you hear the fuel pumps running when trying to start the car after it cuts out, if not the relay is not working, try exchanging the fuel pump relay for the indicator relay and see if it starts.
