Also keeping wifey behind in a Nissan Qashqai pace car is good for other road users.
Off to Tatton Park at weekend so plenty of time for it to play up

Most of the crud in the tank collects around the swirl pot so are accessable through the top. I used a syphon tube, the small movement of fuel was enough to hoover all the bits out (tried the magnet trick but a lot of bits were not ferrous).
I changed the tank in the end to a pattern part and can say that I have had no issue with starvation even with the primative swirl pot that these use.

Where should the rubber hose be ? on the tapered end copper pipe ? and to where ?sporttrucker said
My cabby tank no doubt doesnt have any of this inside but suffers from the fuel starvation turning right so i need to make something to suit, i thought the accumulator was supposed to supply a constant feed to the metering head, obviously not so some after market reservoir must be needed ???

any thoughts ? the UK retailers only seem to list 1ltr and above some of the US sites do the 0.8ltr ones, the best result would be to find a car that had one as standard so we can raid the scrap yards !!!"There seems to be a lot of debate regarding how big you should make a fuel surge tank. Everybody will give you a diffrent answer from no surge tank at all to 3L. Some people even claim you need a 5L one for drifting So I'll try and clear it up for you (the way I see it, if you think I'm wrong please abuse me!) The size of your fuel surge tank really depends on your engines fuel system. You can use maths to work out how big it needs to be: Take for example my RB30/25. It runs 6 fuel injectors that flow 270cc (270ml) of fuel per minute at 43psi (2.96 bar) at 100% duty cycle Therefore your total maximum fuel flow is 1.620L per minute. This figure is calculated by multiplying your number of fuel injectors by the size of your injectors. So in a surge condition in your fuel tank when your lift pump is sucking nothing but air a 1.620L fuel tank will give me a whole minute of surge "protection" But really the sort of turn that would create a condition like that would have to be a big one. I mean how many places are there where you can pull a high G turn like that for over a minute (beside the donut pad!) I doubt that drifters can hold a high G drift without changeing direction for over a minute. So what I do is half that figure. So now I'm down to a 810cc (.81L) surge tank. Its small and compact and gives me a whole 30 seconds.

not a g60 one though, they either have fuel pump inside tank or use mk2 type external fuel pump which sits inside a fuel reservoir.
edit: its under the car in front of the fuel pump, where the accumulator used to go on a tintop
edit2: it doesn't haver to be g40 polo either, ALL G40 shape polo have them regardless as they were all fuel injection (poverty spec were rubishy SPI setup but still counts as fuel injection
