I have 1976 golf ls (australian made) 1600 carby.
the battery was drained by letting the electrics on.
so i had the car jumped with other battery and it was fine.

so i went to mechanic and he checked the spark leads and he says theres sparks from
coil but no sparks from dizzy.. check the point.
and he said dizzy failure. need to replace the whole dizzy
is it true? just suddenly dizzy stuffs like this?
im paniccing at the moment. im from korea.

I wouldn't say I'm an expert but defo check spark plugs, leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm and the ignition points in the distributor the ignition system basically before a dizzy as the cost for you would be far greater
