In some cases it can crack the glass.

Both of them had used a strong glue to stick mirrors on.
They can crack as the car flexes.
Quick search on google and you will see there not the only ones.

Rear view mirrors are actually designed to fall off! This is for safety reasons when you whack your head against it during a crash it reduces the impact.
I wouldnt superglue it on iff I were you
1983 1.5gl cabriolet in yellow, its the nuts!
