So how are the dailies doing?
I know a certain MrJohnBridge is having some minor starting issues but I wondered how everyone else was getting on?
I'm using mine everyday but then again it is locked up in a garage overnight which is about 5C warmer than outside so no freezing pipes for me. I'm pleased to report that the legendary German engineering means she's starting first time every time and hasn't missed a beat yet.
My only trouble is the lack of grip from my Yoko tyres, amazing in the dry terrible in the wet and hopeless on ice. After one scare over a humped back bridge I'm now leaving plenty of stopping distance.
How are all you other daily drivers getting on?

Mine's getting used every day but was sat for most of the weekend, taking a few turns on the starter to fire up most mornings, but has been doing that for ages, I think it's a slightly knackered battery.
Nothing has frozen except my washer jets, and it's running really well. Always parked outside and survived Christmas/New Year in Sunderland without getting anything snapped off by naughty boys, so I'm feeling rather smug*. Methinks I got a good egg.
*scurries away to touch all the wood in the building

the gti slight starting issues and occasionally needs a jump or bump. the window wipers have started to rattle somewhere, the exhaust has started blowing.
the gtd wont start now unles you jump her then she's fine all day, then in the morn wait for glow plugs and she's turn over a little then batt dies. think she just needs a good charge lol.
but the vauxhall bravo hasn't missed a beat and is fine. rwd fun in ice lol.

That's sour, though I don't think doors freezing shut is exclusively a mk1 thing
Dash lights are a right pain in the arse to do though, not the easiest thing in the world to get to, even worse if you don't have a socket you can use to take the steering wheel off, as was the case when I did mine

Mine is running really well and starts first time every time (now that the choke is fixed - kept getting stuck) although it is in the garage over night. Iv been driving it since I passed my test in october and only had to replace the alternator. 99p off ebay 8) .
I hate driving it with all the salt on the roads.

Whats the best brand?
Anyway mines starting fine even in the coldest of weather and its street parked, just have to do a weird jiggling of the accelerator turn key keep jiggling and once its running its fine, it stalls at about mid-temp but my carb has 'issues' and its too cold for carb stripping
