Exhaust advice for a 1.3

Looking to upgrade my exhaust system, manifold included if possible
I currently have a standard system on my 1.3, which I am happy with from my flexi pipe backwards (My central silencer can scrape on bumps as my car is low but thats something i have to live with).
My manifold and downpipe is where I have my problems. My downpipe connects to the manifold via a clamp, which can be rather flimsy and i have had to re attach this a few times this year and can be rather embarrassing driving the car sounding like a tractor . I would like to be able to fit the bolt on type downpipe, so is there a particular manifold i could buy in order to do this?
Also would it be worth while investing in a custom stainless system? my understanding is these can be made up for around £300 which seems fairly reasonable.
Thanks
Toby

i think a standard gti one would fit, you would probably have to get a reducer sleeve to bring it down to the standard pipe.

Hi
I just want a shiny tailpipe instead of the original look, I didnt know the GTI backboxes would fit that would be much easier to source now.
I just wasnt sure as I saw some exhausts on ebay they say its for GTI 1.6/1.8 i email them and they say no it wouldnt fit thats why I was confused to what backboxes would fit mine.
Thanks Mate

Zorg, not sure if you would know but you seem knowledgable I've done a bit of research and apparently the manifold and downpipe from a polo G40 would fit, but I don't know if any modification would be needed further?
Thanks

Harshallumar240, you could always have something made up custom. Not sure where you are from but I understand that in England you can have a whole system from downpipe back made up for around £300.

I have seen an Ashley 4 branch manifold for both a g40 and a regular small block 1.3 and they looked identical. Same gaskets as well. I think it comes down to bore again when you get under the car. I don't think the g40 pipes would have a carb warming pipe either.
I think the flexi pipe is 40 or 45 mm diameter? Can't remember now.

Got a powerflow backbox fitted today custom made… and i was shocked it sounds really good so id recommend this also gives a nice finishing touch to the car as the tailpipe is shiny and rolled.
il try get some pics up this week .
