Seat runner plastic clips

Post

Not a very good fit........

I bought some replacement runner clips hoping to sort out the front seat free-play; the problem is they seem too small.
I've fitted the new ones and the inner has a lots of space to move, it's worse than the old one!

I don't think there's anything wrong with the runners so I checked the clip sizes; the old one is slightly taller than the new one.

old clip 41.6mm - worn down along the bottom.
New clip 41.2mm - brand new, no wear

Am I doing something wrong here or are they just bad reproduction parts?
Have I got them the right way round?

I bought some from VW last year and they were fine, so it might be worth seeing if they still have any!

I managed to get these in, took some drilling and beating but got them in eventually.  I now have a similarproblem as above my new plastic runner is not filling out the floor rail and I have some lateral movement.

Back to the drawing board but the movement is nowhere near as bad as before.

im back on this job again as i cant get these guides to set.

why are there 2 outer guides on EACH seat? - 171 881 213 B

where do these 2 guides fit?

I have 1 outer and 1 inner - why is there a need for a 2nd outer? and more important where does this 2nd outer guide fit ?

Does anyone have a pic of the seat with 3 guides fitted ? 1 inner and 2 outer?

as above, go to VW. 2.84+VAT each, part numbers are as above and you need 2 of each to do both seats (grey is outer, white is inner)
