Hydrolic clutch conversion?

Post

For a 1.3

Ive been toying with the idea of fitting (somehow) a hydrolic clutch to my golf. I know it is possible with a pedal box, but i dont really want to fit one of those currently. Instead, ive seen people fit a bracket to the steering column then attached a master cylinder to the clutch pedal, shouldnt be too hard. Then at the gearbox end ive seen the clutch cable arm modified with a rose joint on for a slave cylinder to attach to with a bracket on the gearbox mount, again, shouldnt be tooo difficult. The only thing I have no idea about is which master and slave cylinders I could use with this setup, I was going to go to a scrap yard and pull off a matching pair but then theres the issue that the travel might be different etc so it doesnt work very well with my clutch and pedal. Or would this sort of thing need to be adjusted in the fabrication by adjusting where the slave and master cylinders attach.

Any pictures of set-ups or advice on what steps to take would be greatly appreciated :thumbs:Im not planning on doing this until some point over summer so have plenty of time to do research etc.

Cheers,
Matt
