Manchester Meet, Tatton Park 6th December

Firstly, my apologies to dano for not keeping with his xmas thread and going away from his original topic, but hope he understands.
Well as in past it has been menitoned about possible meets for us manchester bunch, ideally i would love to start these off as they are closer to us and there are alot of us that can attend depending on other priorities.
I would like to suggest a Tatton park meet on a saturday during the day, beautiful surroundings which is great for piccies of our beloved mk1's.
Also possible areas like Bury, Bolton, trafford & stockport areas for future meets
If anyone would like to suggest anything else or would be happy doing this, we could organise a date etc convient to all.
Best wishes
Pete

Hibbs, yes another good location, they have a nice food their also and park for kids.
Problem is where can we park apart from main car park for pics, sure more knowledgable members or the park will know, but yes that would be a cracking place, i think from last time i went, it was about ?2 per car which pays for looking after the deer that roam about the park and the looking after park, would be nice to get pics with them, thou not too close
So tatton park or lyme park are two good locations, but would like more members to put in ideas and then vote on which place to goto.

Tatton Park is great,

Heaton Park? (not sure what its like these days)
Hollingworth Lake maybe?

A favourite spin out of mine was, middleton(ok not great but that where we started) -> Hollingworth lake -> down toward Bury, then through Prestwich way and back round.

We of course stopped on motorway bridges, pee'd in bushes and cruised round when all the clubs were kicking out, might be a bit old for the later though now (plus misses will poke out my eyes) :)

Rivington i believe is Bolton is it, that is fine bud, what attractions, good places to drive too are their there bud
just clicked, is there a place called something pike, i am going back 15 year now, went once and parked up on this type of massive hill, the roads are curvy all the way up and you have separate parking spaces on certains levels i believe, that would be cracking for a drive and meet.
Hopefully will get more interest, i am going to let the topic go for a few more days yet to get other members coming and we'll decide which out of the curent places we will choose our 1st Manchester meet, so lets make this a good one for the club

Yeah Rivington is Bolton way, they have a motorbike meet there every Sunday so its a very popular location, get classic cars down there aswell but can get very busy down on the main carpark at the 'Barn'.

As said the roads around there are great and views aint too bad either, if you want me to scout i location i dont mind having a look around the area somtime?

Get your names down on here all from Greater Manchester and manchester
areas, if you would like to attend a manchester meet and come from other regions, you are at most welcome to attend, the bigger the better

As I said about the Wiggin Tree event (previous thread), my Cabrio off the road probably 'til the new year….It would be nice to do in the early spring.  If people can, it would be nice that the Wiggin Tree event be supported (other thread) in the meantime.
