I pick this up this Friday in London, so a few pics from the owner Lewis to start the ball rolling.
Its an 03/08/1993 L plate with 137k on the clock, no FSH but with new mohair hood and great condition exterior and interior.
My plans are the same as my red Sportline, subtle changes and make it to the best standard that I can, so original wheels refurbed and back on, stainless exhaust, niggles all fixed, lowered slightly, euro spec Sportline steering wheel and engine bay done.
This time I have lots of spares and far more knowledge.

Into the garage for a timing belt and it needs a new rocker cover gasket but its just been serviced and MOTed.
A new gear knob from Shughy and top rad card, rear arch stone protectors and badge refurb kit from Chortle. Possibly new side Sportline decals as the ones that are on are too low, so possibly resprayed ??
Overall the car looks great and I will enjoy sorting it over the next year.
Then 2 Sportlines for the shows

The car will stay with me and I plan to do all the things I have done to my red to this and get both of them to their best condition without painting them.

Also I dug out my orange side indicators from my red car, Chortles Karmann gel badges and I already have a full set of black leather with red stitching gearstick gaiter, handbrake cover and handbrake handle cover.
I still have some black silicone hose left to cover the headrest stems as well, plus I've got my spare WUR and oil cooler to refurb as well as my already refurbed servo, mc and brake linkage to slot in once the bay is cleaned down during the winter.

Just as well the Sportline only came in two colours! you could be needing an extension.
Bits in the post to you tomorrow. I have now one remaining Sportline/rivage gear knob left if anyone wants it???
Well done again on the new motor.

Then Ginner text me today telling me he had one prepped ready for paint ad even worse Hibbs messaged me that he has a black one for half the price of the German one :-(
When will I ever learn patience !!

Chris, just seen that you're coming to London. Not sure what your plans are, but happy to meet you at Heathrow and drive you to pick up the new motor, or help in any way. Be good to meet you at last.
At the mo, I'm arriving in Heathrow at 1140 and taking the Piccadilly line to Arsenal to meet Lewis. Check the car out and then going to Sth Mimms services to meet Smudger/Andy for a coffee.

Great so finally you will make the AGM 2014! and have both cars there :-)
R
Its doubtful as I work in an oil refinery and co-ordinate all the scaffold activities, my plant that I work in, shutdown for 3 months from End of July/Aug and I can't be off. Also need to have my family holiday just before it as well in July !!
So its not going to be easy :-/
