1987 1.8 small-bumper Clipper

Post

Back to the top
Evening all - thought I'd start a thread about my recently-acquired Cabby.

Very solid and perfectly useable but lots of fettling to do, it's got a Weber conversion and the hood was replaced a few years back but the paint is shocking so will need to sort that in the long run.

Only needed rear shocks for the MoT, but priority jobs are as follows (in no particular order!);

Paint (but may have to wait)
Replace / repair driver's seat
Cambelt / waterpump
Dash has delaminated around vents
Door caps
Roof seals - tidy
Seat clips
Investigate suspicious-looking bulkhead clutch cable plate..

Second gear is a bit crunchy and I'm pretty sure I've seen the odd puff of oily smoke, but these can be done as and when time / money / enthusiasm allows!

Right, pics as bought;

Have now removed the smokies and, other than pulling the naff CD player for something more retro, pretty much everything else to date has been under the skin and general tidying..
