Whats the best tyre for the 13" tarantulas?

Post

Hi guys, what tyre are you running on your standard tarantulas? mine are all 185/65r13 but are all miss matching and pretty rubbish brands. Was looking to replace them all with decent new tyres. Yokohama A539's look good but I'm just unsure O_o

175/75r13 are the correct size aren't they? will have to look up some rain sports.

Im sitting on the fence Richard, i really like the bbs wheels, but I'm quite into keeping the car original looking

Just bought a set of the new Dunlop Blue Speed Response and very happy with them as well.

I had the older version on the car before and found they were good but these are even better.
Maybe because there still new but there not pricey either for what you get!  :)

These are rated 82T.

You should actually be running 82V rated tyres - but if you find some let me know!

just  fitted  some Falken Sincera 175/70/13 and I'm very impressed with the grip especially in the wet.  they are also noticeably more comfortable

Like the look of the rainsports, the Falken tyres look good too. Finding it difficult to fine anything remotely sporty in the 175/70. Everything seems to be "Eco" or "energy"!

Trouble I'm finding with the bbs's and the 185/60r13s is that the car is very low geared in top, so maintaining 70 on the motorway the car is revving very high!

My Mk1 Scirocco runs on Avon ZT5 and they are 175/70/13 and the speedo reads correct. Plenty of grip and happy with them.
I did have 185/60/13 but they was great for off the traffic lights but hard work on the motorway being smaller than the original tyre and the speedo and mileometer over read.
