Is there anything in the "rules" of this forum that your not allowed to sell on ebay? I list items on here, get nothing but timewasters, give up, list them on ebay and they always sell immediately without any hassle. As soon as you mention ebay some "moderator" removes your ad without even consulting you.

surely the rules apply to everyone on this forum and not just some moderator who spitefully chooses to remove your ad when you mention ebay?

I have sold virtually everythiing on ebay after listing here first and every time some moderator removes the ad. It really looks like certain people here are purely here for themselves . Being a new proud owner of a mk1 golf this forum feels like such an intimidating place for new people

Hi there. I'm sorry you feel that way. This is a great site and one of the most welcoming ones too. The Club tries to apply all the rules to all members. There are rules to selling, advertising etc. Some one should be along soon to give you a full breakdown.

If you own a Mk1 your really in good company and in the right place.

chin up, enjoy and join in.

Sorry you've got that impression, not overly sure whats happened but lets look forward rather than back and see if you can get a better experience on here.

If you're selling on ebay and wish to link your stuff on here also, put up your ad in the third party links forum rather than the specific forums for wheels, engines etc as in those forums you must specify a price which I guess you don't have if its up for auction.

Any problems drop us a line and we'll help you out, its a nice place really

Here's the rules

You can have a link as long as the advert complies with the rules, price and location.

Things do take longer to sell on here unless they are a special item

Things that are common just don't sell

I achieved the post as the member made the following comment, "Bend over backwards to help out and it gets you nowhere on this site
The bonnet is now going on ebay also."

That and the fact there was no link to ebay.

Clearly dissatisfied with the response from the advert which was surprising as he posted it at 8:04pm last Sunday and we are now early evening on the following Wednesday.

It wasn't meant to offend as I stated in my reply to the above.
(see archived post)
I or an Moderator can bring it back from the Archive but may I suggest removing both the members above comment plus my last two.

That way he can edit his post to include a link to ebay.

Thanks red or dead and ew for your positive feedback.
Absolutely plenty of pages on this forum that refer to eBay and don't give links. Just seems like only my posts are the only ones that get flagged for it.
I think three days without a response to an ad is slow when you consider that I sold everything on ebay in a matter of hours.
Damn I said eBay again I guess this post is going to get kindly archived again

When you consider that eBay you get a larger spread of people then you do on here then I would expect things to sell quicker on eBay.

All you have to do on a sales ad is when you post it for sale, then at a later date pay fees to post it on eBay just put a link to it on your orginal sale thread

 :)

That's the spirit. Do you own a Mk1? Get some pictures up if you do.

This site is a big family and all are welcome.

Where abouts are you based? Why not try out some of our meets?
