Driving the GX again :) need some help desperately :)

I will be returning to my GX to drive as a daily again soon enough. (can't wait)

the issue thats its always had is… yes you've guessed it! the pierburg 1b3 carb.
i just don't know what to do anymore. I've replaced the auto choke and all gaskets.

I've looked into changing the carb for a weber, for many reasons but all the answers are on threads years old and none of the links work to buy etc.

the car is in extremely good condition with only 40k miles and 2 owners to its name but is let down by this carb.

can anyone help me sort it out before i start driving it again?

thanks guys!

What actually is the issue with the carb? you might find the problem lies somehwere elseif youve given the carb a good service, freshen up and set-up

Your best bet would be posting this question here though ->http://vwgolfmk1.org.u…=big-block-carb-engines_2

i personally have issues with my carb because the mixture screw doesnt seem to give much adjustment but ive been using a gunson colour tune kit to get mine about right  :)

Thats probably your best option posting there    Good luck!
