VDO Gauges
The ones that i've bought are out of a Vauxhall Calibra turbo and they're both moulded in to one unit 8O They've got a multi plug powering both, but as one is only volts, it shares power supply. Tested them both on a power pack and both seemed ok, just need a sender to check out the oil pressure gauge.

Thought I'd update the progress. Ordered the sender this morning. Finished the gauge panel and just waiting to but an appropriate illuminated fag lighter so I can charge the phone and sat nav.
Original Calibra panel
Prototype panel to replace the ash tray.
Front
Back
Finished panel sprayed in satin black bumper paint with the VDO gauges fitted.
Nearly there, just need the fag lighter and the sender and then just wire in.

Nice one feller, I was thinking of doing something similar for extra gauges, where did you get the panel from.

I made the panel myself out of a material called model board or modelling board. I'm a D&T teacher and i've got access to a few CNC machienes, so quickly drew out a design and milled it out. 8)
Went to halfords and bought a fag lighter last night, lucky that I know the people there as I took the original fag insert in and tried it in the new assembly and it fitted like VW had meant it to.
Just drilled the hole, but the masking tape that I used to stop scratching the paint, pulled a small area of paint off after drilling! :x
Nearly done, when the sender arrives i'll put some photos up of it before and after.
