WOW man.
maybe one day. Did you get it in Germany?
I got a '79 1093 cc L and I'm having gear change problems. I got  a linkage kit but a bit too scared to mess around under there.
Have you changes yours?
cheers

It was bought in Germany though I did not import it, the previous owner did. Gear linkage kit is easy to fit, just take your time and replace eash bush one at a time and clean up all the parts. Before you disconnent the long shaft under the car, mark its position where it slides through with some tape. Actually my gear linkage is very unique being a '74 - no push down detent for reverse!

mine was like that in my '84, not really meant to be like that, always exciting at junctions though.

how do you engage reverse on yours Rajan, just push it across further than first?

Yes, just pull it further than first. Easy to engage first still though, hence the change to push down!

Nice one Rajan.

Those side louvres must add about 10bhp.

Got any close ups of the wolfsburg hub things.

Peter.

Did take a pic for you, will grab it off the card.

that is very nice.

Think maybe itd look nicer without the window slatts.

Rear one looks nice.

And other than that, that mk1 looks fully nice.

That's stunning! I've always loved this colour on a mk1. My P-reg is looking increasingly younger compared to your collection now rajan. M-reg, a pure classic!

I would like to part restore mine to former glory one day. A lot is still original so i'm reluctant to replace that much to be honest.

No problem.

Yeah you read right, this is the first time i've had any malicious interest, it's generally quite well received.

I found a screen at Inters so i just have to fit it now.

Early front drum brakes as fitted to '74 small block cars (note cooling fins)

Not exactly off the shelf now, so drums have been given a small turn, and new shoes custom made and rivetted onto plates.

Remind me of the old 'minifin' drums for, not surprisingly, Minis!

They look like brake off some old hot rod.

Looking good though, i guess they can only be turned a number of time before the casing gets too thin.
