Il tell you where im going with this now… I use a mk3 golf everyday, as a 'daily driver' and a few months ago, i drove my dads mk1 golf… :wink:
Ive now gone and got myself one to restore because i liked driving it so much
If youre worried about the screen being rather verticle… dont be, its nice if anything, and the bonnet is really good for seeing where you are going!

when i got my cabby gti i travelled down to bournemouth from halifax,about 6hours and the campaign same again to hertfordshire.great fun driving back though

don't be such a pussy go and get one no other make of cars ie VW have this kind of following there are more VW shows in the year than any other make of car put together we all cant be wrong if parking is your worry and seeing out the windows buy a push bike

seriously though when i first drove a vw the squareness (?) did take about 1.5 days to get used too :twisted:
