New Girl

Hi and welcome to the site.

If you can, go and see the car in the flesh.  Its in Yorks so a couple of hours drive max.  The engine seems OK and all the right things have been replaced.  The seller doesn't mention any down sides to the car so he may have omitted them.  You need to find out if the bodywork is in good condition - dents, scrapes, rust, filler etc;  Big bumpers always managed to get little cracks on them.  The main selling point for the Rivage is the Electric windows, seats and hood.  Make sure all are in working order.

If theres nothing wrong with the car buy it!  Similar standard rivages do seem to go for alot more.

i think that is whats concerning me seems too cheap and with the confusion over the engine its putting me off! I'v been in touch with the seller all MOT's are present backing up the mileage but there are no service stamps just bills.

Thanks for your help :)

Sounds a bit too good to be true as I would expect to pay at least a grand more for a car of that age and milage.

If I was you I would give it a miss and look out for a car with a more solid service history.

I test drove a couple of GTI's with rather suspect history before stumbling upon mine which was in mint condition with a fully stamped service book, and she has been an absolute joy to own ever since.  So it's definately worth waiting till the right car comes along.

May be looking to sell my clipper in the new year if you don't have any luck before then.

Happy Hunting

yep but she recently drove it back from france , put it up for sale and left it with a friend to sell for her.

aaaaarrrrrrr, sneaky girl

Oi! Not sneaky at all! I had hoped to sell it the week I was back, but two weeks of solid rain prior to that must have dulled down the market a bit. Luckily, my friend is a very good friend, who e-mailed me the other day to say he'd even washed my car for me. awwww!

Hmmm, the man who took everything I wrote about *my* Rivage and pretended it as his. I was suss that he couldn't write his own list of features but didn't want to say anything as I figured it'd look like sour grapes (as it prolly does now).

Hi, This rivage yous are on about i ended up buying :| Not as good condition as the guy had made out by far, but for sure it has potential.
Guy was desperate to sell 8O  and me being me was the wrong person to let this on to :boohoo:
No History, but loads and loads of receipts car runs fine, but getting full respray, new suspension, wheels highly polished, exhaust, alarm etc etc

Plans are to keep it as standard as possible as too many been messed about with :x

You could have had mine for the same price. It doesn't need a respray. It just needs a heated seat fixed for winter really. Full service history, and owned by Golf lovers since day one. Immaculate on the inside and completely original. And she runs like a dream.

So why the hell did this guy's sell when it's got none of that??? And why the hell hasn't mine sold yet. Grrr….annoying….

Getting there slowly with the suspension,
i got the KONI ADJUSTABLE DAMPERS KIT, bump stops, today i got the  top mounts for front and top upper for the back, all i now need is the back lower mount and i think thats it.

ive been getting quotes on Fitting, Tracking & Camber. and just got a best quote of ?150 for the lot, i did go to Northway Tyres but they cant fit my kit for me. im gonna get a last quote 2mrw from my mechanic and see what happens. im jus tiny bit worried bout the tyres touching the arches.

ARE YOU GONNA BE AT ACE CAFE 30/10 TUESDAY???

do you know any local good garages that can carry out this work???
i just want someone who will take care of the car

New Lady….. u want a RIVAGE???

the guy i know needs to get rid of it, cars not suitable for his clients.

I'm gonna try but my other half has booked a night pass so I might be lumbered with the kids, I'll see how it pans out.

I do know a guy that can fit it for you, he did mine and it's fine. He's based not far from ACE literally just of the 406. I'll PM his details if you like.
