I know this tip is a little late……. but for future jobs where you can just tell its going to be a mission to un-do bolts …..
Either dab on some engine oil and leave to soak…….
or spray some plugas on…… it's good stuff.
If you use a impact driver you can shock bolts loose that are seized. :starwars:
Like I said not much use now but a good tip for next time. ops:
If you've not seen Plusgas before this is the stuff………….
I used to own a mk1 - well I've had 2 actually - YDU 720X & SMU 420Y. Currently I drive an 98 Scotia White Mitsubishi Evolution V RS…. fancy getting another mk1 someday

if so i have a near new (3 weeks old one) from gsf that was fitted to a 1.6 gti 8v but ive now replaced with a brand neew vag one and replaced my hoses and metal water pipes.
if you need it drop me a pm or give me a ring and i can try and send it out tomoorrow morn

can i ask why you changed it for a VAG one? Are the aftermarket ones no good?
