RAC Homestart unable to start Golf MK1 GTI 8V DX - overhauled engine & components

You're not diagnosing it, you're just shooting parts at it with a cannon and hoping something will fix it.

You need to 100% know if there's a spark or not. You can buy a spark tester for about £4 and it will be very obvious if there's spark or not from one of these. I CBA typing anything about fuel until you know about the ignition.

When you filled up did you put diesel in by mistake? There might be enough petrol to make it look and smell like petrol but enough diesel not to ignite with a spark and coat plugs etc?

how are you getting on with this? I have serious starting issue as wells. Only getting a decent spray from one injector despite replacing everything!
