Could anyone advise where the hoses go to/from the swirl pot?
Do the 2 side ports go in line of the fuel going to the carb…and the top port for a hose going to the return to tank line?

they're widely available in different types aftermarket, think Americans call them 'surge tanks'? VW would call it a 'vapour eliminator' part number is 026127177B

Out of curiosity–what happens if a car *doesn't* have one installed? It won't work at all, will it?

Intermittent stalling in curves with low fuel level in tank.
