small/quick restoration
Karmann is the factory in Osnabruck where the cabby was made. Infact all the Cabbies were made there for VW. They didn't want to interupt the Wolfsberg line as they were busy churning out the tin tops.
So Model wise and bumper wise. There is no such thing as a "Clipper Kit" bit of a misnomer really. Post 88 Cabs had the "facelift" treatment to modernise the cabbies look. So the facelift kits were fitted to both the Clipper (which was considered the base model) and the GTI Cabriolet. Got to say I'm liking the idea of a small bumper cabs.

it had a late cabby clipper grill that looked awful
its a 1984 gti so I opted for this from heritage

wheels were a ebay cheap find with some weird 155/55 stretch
not sure on them yet as they need spacing out at rear and it needs to go lower ie coilovers to close up arch gap but will then be so low as the wheels are only 14" sump scraper isn't a good thing
not cool or clever

Don't need spots or badge, I've got a clipper, that had a piece of the grill snapped off. Fortunately, it's exactly where a GTI badge goes, so that is what it has stuck on the grill covering the hole. It looks fine, but it isn't a GTI!
Where about a are you based?
