No problem as long as the foam and the inner bolster material are good that's all I need from it really 🙂

Here are the pics of the seat. The material and bolsters are in pretty decent condition (the bolsters are nice and firm)
The material is decent but dirty.
It has been sewn back together at the corners by a blind man at some point (see pics)
Unless you particularly want it, am I okay to keep the headrest?

Let me know what you think.
Mike.

Cool looks good mike, all I acctually want from it is the foam and the material, so happy for you to keep the headrest, and frame etc, where abouts are you, just thinking removing the material and foam will make it lighter to post if your miles away ? Cheers

Hi Chris,

A bit misleading, I'm actually by Brands Hatch, near Sevenoaks, so not too far away at all.

Ok cool so what do we think price wise, I have no idea really, was gonna say like £30 not sure if that's about right or not to be honest

Yeah, that's absolutely fine with me.

Do you want to collect the whole thing? Or would you rather I pulled it apart and sent it?

I'd prefer not to pull it apart though, as I'd hate to send it off and then find out that I'd messed it up.

Well bit of a step backwards today, went to swap camshaft over and stupidly managed to snap one of the cam retainers, as there machined to for in one piece, the head is now basically scrap, not sure what to do now, it's either another head, or maybe a engine swap, thinking a 16v would fit quite well as I already have the twin webbers, any other ideas ?

Gutted for you. Can you not buy a replacement part? Think eBay is going to be you new friend

Well the prioblem is that there are mates at manufacture and machines to fit as one piece. Then unbolted and cam put in be re bolted, my only options now are new cylinder head, or new engine, can't find a 1.6 cylinder head, only a damaged one that's up for the price of a good one anyway, and loads of 1.8 gti heads, unfortunately they would fit but have a chamber were as the 1.6 is flat so would reduce combustion pressure too much

I feel deeply for you mate as I'm sure many others do.
My advice for what it's worth is to take a deep breath before you jump. 🤔

I take it that you want to keep it a 1600 so maybe we can find a replacement and try looking at Germany, you might have more success.

Don't forget to create a new post in the wanted section if you've not done already! 😉👍🏼

Well had a bit of a result, managed to get a complete 1.6 gti cylinder head off German eBay, one of the perks of having a German wife I gues 😁
