Nevada Beige type 19 mk2

Having experienced the tweed and brown dash and trim in my mk1 I couldn't resist the temptation to buy this mk2 in similar spec…

Plans are to test out my DA machine on the bodywork, fit some alloys and sort out the ride height, i.e. Lower it!!!, tidy up a few bits and enjoy.

I can't believe how smooth it drives and the doors shut like it's fresh from the factory. It's had two owners since new and spent most of its life in a garage in Germany. Since 2011 it's been used as a daily by a Dr!

Might fit my recaros from the mk1 and take it to a few shows next year..

This is my inspiration…

Do you have the seat fabric code in the boot at all? it looks a lot like mine and I've been after some for years. Are you keeping the seats?

Hi Dan

I'll take a look at the weekend. Wouldn't your car have the same beige interior as my mk1?

I'm keeping the seats I'm afraid.

So far I've swapped the front grill over and the badge for the coreect early spec grill.

It's also had a wash and a tad of clay bar and some polishing to bring the paint back to life…still a work in progress really

As far as I have been able to suss out, there must be at least 2 different beige cloth trims around the '83 / '84 year build.

I'll keep looking!!! Ta.

I've found that there's actually three or four!

I've got a pic of my data sticker I can send over to you from the mk2 if that helps?

With the Mk1 gone I will now concentrate on this.

So far it's been machine polished and I still have another two stages to go.

Test fitted the reacros but they've gone with the Mk1.

Also fitted one flag mirror and the correct type 19 grill!

So got it out in daylight for a quick look…..it's dusty and covered in dust..

Mirrors properly fitted now..

Plan is to get the coilovers in, finish stage 2 and 3 machine polish and get the dent man out!

Bought some reacros to create some similar ones to the mk1 ones I had made up…

Best colour combo for a mk2

So she's been in the garage this week having the following jobs done:

- new timing belt, tensioner and water pump. All NOS from the Vw dealer.

- coilovers fitted

- rocker cover gasket and aux belt

- replacement front bumper

And this is how she looks no, soooo much better

So I had to do the usual late night trial of some alloys I had lying around, some rs001 to be precise!

She need to be a tad lower I think
